Two men have been detained for allegedly raping six girls in a middle school dormitory in Botou City, Hebei Province.
A villager in the city's Fuzhen Town reported that the six girls at Fuzhen No. 1 Middle School were raped on May 22. They were too scared to tell anyone and their parents learned about the rape three days later, he said.
Li Jianjun, a spokesman with the Botou Public Security Bureau, confirmed the report and said the two suspects, one under 18 years old, are not students of the same school, today's Beijing News reported.
Some villagers said teachers' relatives are also allowed to live in rented rooms in the school and they sometimes bring outsiders into the campus.
The school's principal could not be reached for comment, the paper said.
