NANNING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Seven people from a Hong Kong tourist group suffered fractures while others sustained minor injuries after their bus flipped on its side in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local authorities said Tuesday.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. on Monday near the village of Zhenyi in Longan County, sources with the county's publicity department said.

A total of 24 people were on the bus, including 21 tourists from Hong Kong, a local guide and two bus drivers, sources said.

Seven tourists who suffered fractures were treated in hospital, while others suffered only minor injuries like bruises and scratches.

Health authorities in Nanning, the provincial capital, have sent an expert team to Longan to carry out further checks on the injured, whose conditions are not life-threatening, sources said.

The bus, which was heading from Daxin County to Nanning, the provincial capital, has a loading capacity of 39 people, according to the sources.

A further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
