GUIZHOU, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Seven students were injured after ground near a secondary school building subsided Monday morning in southwest China's Guizhou Province, the local government said.
The subsidence occurred outside the Third Secondary School in the city of Kaili at 7:50 a.m. Monday, the municipal government's press office said.
Seven students were injured in the accident and have been sent to a local hospital for treatment. Another 30 students are in the hospital for observation.
An initial investigation indicated that the subsidence was caused by improper construction under the school.
Classes were still held after the incident occurred.
A further investigation into the accident is under way.
