GUANGZHOU, December 9 (ChinaMil) -- Xu Qiliang, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the CPC, recently made an investigation tour in troop units under the Guangzhou Theater of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

During the tour, Xu Qiliang inspected command information system and main combat equipment, and observed training and drills in related troop units under the Guangzhou Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA.

Xu Qiliang also visited and talked with officers and men of a guard battalion and an armoured regiment under the Guangzhou MAC.

Xu Qiliang stressed that commanders at all levels should acquire new knowledge, master new equipment, study and innovate tactics and training methods from the angle of equipment and technology, so as to improve strategic and command level.

Yin Fanglong, deputy director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, Xu Fenlin, commander of the Guangzhou MAC of the PLA, Wei Liang, political commissar of the Guangzhou MAC of the PLA, and leaders from the CMC General Office accompanied Xu Qiliang in the tour.
