SYDNEY, October 8 (ChinaMil) -- The guided missile destroyer "Qingdao" under the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN) left Sydney Harbor at 10:00 on the morning of October 6, 2013, local time, after wrapping up its visit to Australia to join with the guided missile frigate "Linyi" and the comprehensive supply ship "Hongze Lake" to head for Oakland of New Zealand for a visit.
The officers and men of the guided missile destroyer "Qingdao", which berthed at the port of Newcastle of Australia during its visit to Australia, participated in the first maritime security actual-troop exercise of the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-PLUS) held in the eastern waters of Australia and the activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy's warships entering the Sydney Harbor.
During the above-mentioned maritime exercise, the guided missile destroyer "Qingdao" organized warships to carry out tactical maneuvering for 22 times, successively participated in the 11-warship and 25-warship intensive ship-formation drills and the drills on multi-subjects including joint patrolling, boarding a single ship for inspection, video-shooting during navigation, routine reporting and warship reviewing during anchoring.
The guided missile destroyer "Qingdao" joined with the guided missile frigate "Linyi" and the comprehensive supply ship "Hongze Lake", which were on maneuver training in the open sea off Australia, on the morning of October 7 and jointly head for Auckland of New Zealand, the last stop of the visiting trip, according to sources.
