ANKARA, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish Armed Forces is set to stage a 10-day "planned exercise" in the southern province of Adana bordering on Syria, Turkish Daily News reported Monday.
The exercise, named the Yildirim-2013 Mobilization, is slated for May 6-15, according to a statement by the Turkish General Staff.
The exercise, to be conducted at the Air Forces 10th Tanker Base Command, aims to test the army's mobilization system and the coordination between public institutions and the armed forces in case of any mobilization, the statement said.
The Turkish General Staff said 12 vehicles and 60 stand-by personnel, as well as private transportation companies will take part in the exercise.
Turkey is facing an influx of Syrian refugees with the worsening situation in Syria.
Last week, one Turkish border guard was killed and six others were wounded in a clash at the Syrian border.
