The "Endurance" landing ship of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) slowly sailed out of the International Passenger Transport Center of Shanghai Port and wrapped up its six-day-long friendly visit to Shanghai on the morning of April 1, 2013. This is the first time for the "Endurance" warship and the fifth time for the RSN warships to visit Shanghai.
During the visit, the officers and men of the Chinese and Singaporean navies visited each other's warships and held a friendly basketball match. The Singaporean side also held open day activities for Shanghai residents to visit the "Endurance" warship.
Upon the conclusion of the visit, the warships of the two navies also conducted such maritime drills as communication check in the waters near the Yangtze River estuary.
The "Endurance" warship visited Zhanjiang of south China's Guangdong province in 2006. It has an overall length of 141m, a beam of 21m, a draft of 4.5m, a full-load displacement of 8,500t and a maximum speed of 15 knots.
A total of 228 officers and men visited Shanghai along with the “Endurance” warship this time.
