BEIJING, March 2 -- China's political advisors expect the work style improvement efforts of the Communist Party of China to continue, rather than being a "one-off thing," spokesman for the annual session of China's top political advisory body said Sunday.
"The improvement of the Party's work style will be a long-term, complicated and challenging task and it certainly cannot be a one-off thing," Lyu Xinhua, spokesman for the annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee told a press conference ahead of the annual session.
"So we hope that the Party and State leaders will continue such efforts and this is what we as CPPCC members expect from them," he said.
Lyu's remarks came amid the sweeping anti-corruption and work style improvement drive that has been launched by the CPC Central Committee since its new leadership took office in 2012.
A series of new policies and measures to fight corruption and build closer ties between the Party's officials and the masses have been rolled out, responding to the public concerns.
"They have proved effective and are improving the conduct of the Party," Lyu said.
The annual session of CPPCC National Committee is scheduled to open Monday.
