BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday urged enhancing the quality of party rules to improve internal management and supervision.
Li Zhanshu, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting on Party rules in Beijing.
On Nov. 27, the CPC issued a five-year plan on Party rules, the first of its kind since the CPC was established in 1921. The plan envisages the cleaning up current rules, some of which are old and inconsistent with each other, and establishing new ones as Party and national conditions have changed.
Quality of the new rules should enhance the rule of law and the Party's scientific and democratic governance, Li said.
