BEIJING, Nov. 19 -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Tuesday founded a 28-member team to promote the key reform plan that it adopted last week.
The promotion team is made up of senior Party and government officials, including ministers, vice ministers and provincial party chiefs, as well as legislators, political advisors and researchers from national think tanks.
They will tour the country to explain the decision on major issues concerning comprehensively deepening reforms that was adopted at the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee on Nov. 12.
President Xi Jinping said in a written instruction to the team that they should help CPC members, officials and ordinary people understand the main principles, new ideas, judgements and measures in the document.
The key is to explain why the committee adopted the decision and answer people's questions, said Xi, also the committee's general secretary.
Local party organs are encouraged to launch their own promotion programs and reach more people, he said, urging that the whole Party and society should be united together, build up their confidence and form consensus to push forward the reform.
Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, told the promotion team at its first meeting that they are entrusted to explain the principles and arrangements of the country's future reform.
They should help CPC members and ordinary people to fully understand the significance of the third plenary session and inspire them to carry forward the reform, he said.
The team started preparing its touring lectures on Tuesday. It will hold the first such event on Friday in Beijing and start to tour the country from Saturday.
The team is expected to grasp the essence of the document and respond to issues that interest the people most, Liu said.
He encouraged its members to do their promotional work in an easy and attractive manner, interact with audiences and use examples and statistics to explain policies.
