BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- A name list of candidates for China's top leaders, including top lawmaker and state president, was finalized Wednesday afternoon for the parliament's voting on Thursday.
The fourth presidium meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) adopted by voting the final list of candidates for chairman, vice-chairpersons, secretary-general and members of the 12th NPC Standing Committee, president and vice-president of the state, and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China, said a statement issued after the presidium meeting.
The list, which was proposed at Tuesday's third presidium meeting and distributed to all delegations for discussion, will be put on voting at a plenary meeting of the NPC session, the statement said.
NPC deputies agreed that the nomination procedure embodied democracy and the candidates have been suitable and gained support, the statement said.
The presidium also voted to decide to put for voting a draft resolution on the plan of institutional restructuring and functional transformation of the State Council at the plenary meeting.
Wang Wanbin, vice secretary-general of the first session of the 12th NPC, delivered a report on the handling of motions proposed by NPC deputies.
NPC deputies have submitted 401 motions before the deadline, among which 394 were through joint endorsement of more than 30 lawmakers and the other seven were proposed by delegations, Wang said.
About 98 percent of the motions are about legislation and cover economic, political, cultural, social and environmental issues, he said.
After careful read-through, the session's secretariat decided that none of these motions are urgent enough to be deliberated at this session. The secretariat suggested to pass the motions on to special committees of the NPC for further discussion, Wang said.
The presidium meeting then adopted through voting the report on the handling of the lawmakers' motions.
