BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Zhang Gaoli, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has called for more support for the country's non-public sector and urged private enterprises to make new achievements.
Zhang, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said on Monday that breakthroughs must be made in allowing private capital to enter key economic sectors like energy, railway and finance over the next five years.
He made the remarks while attending a panel discussion with political advisors from the industry and commerce sector at the ongoing annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, the top political advisory body.
Zhang said privately-owned business and small and medium-sized enterprises have become an important part of China's economy in terms of creating new jobs and technical innovation.
