BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The four newly-appointed top officers of the Chinese armed forces chorused loyalty to the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) and military modernization at their debut to the ongoing CPC national congress in Beijing.

Fang Fenghui, chief of the General Staff Headquarters of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Zhang Yang, director of the General Political Department, Zhao Keshi, head of the General Logistics Department, and Zhang Youxia, head of the General Armament Department, all eulogized Hu Jintao's address to delegates to the 18th CPC National Congress, which is held from Nov. 8 to 14.

The appointment of the four PLA commanding chiefs was announced a bit over two weeks ago, before the convening of the CPC national congress.

At panel discussions on Hu's political report, General Fang vowed to resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

General Zhang stressed that all PLA officers and soldiers must keep loyalty and firmly obey the call of the CPC.

General Zhao pledged to make greater efforts to build an innovative logistics system that combines military and civilian resources.

General Zhang promised to speed up research and development of hi-tech weapons and other equipment.
