World publishers to gather at 20th Beijing Book Fair

Publishers from around the world will gather at the 20th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1.

More than 2,000 companies from 76 countries and regions will exhibit at the fair, including the Pearson Education Group, the McGraw Hill and the Springer Group, the fair's organizing committee revealed on Wednesday.

This year's BIBF will have new areas for culture exhibitions while keeping 10,000 square meters of digital exhibition area, said the committee.

As the major guest of honor, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will organize various academic and cultural activities.

A series of forums on publication, literature and linguistic education will be held on the sidelines of the fair.

The BIBF was initiated in 1986.
