SOCHI, Feb. 3 -- Following are the numbers about the 22nd Olympic Winter Games to be held from Feb. 7-23 in Sochi, Russia:

230 - United States will have a record 230 athletes competing in the 2014 Games.

107 - Norway has won 107 gold medals, the most for an NOC in Olympic Winter Games history.

98 - There will be a record 98 events at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

39 - Duff Gibson was 39 years and 190 days old when he won men's skeleton at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games to become the oldest gold medal winner in an individual event in Olympic Winter Games history.

26 - A record 26 NOCs won at least one medal in 2010 and in 2006.

24 - Figure skating will be contested for the 24th time at the Olympic Games. It has been part of all Olympic Winter Games and of the Olympic Games in 1908 and 1920.

22 - These will be the 22nd Winter Olympic Games. The first edition was the Chamonix 1924 Olympic Winter Games.

15 - There are 15 different sports and disciplines on the program in Sochi.

12 - There are 12 new events at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

11 - Biathlete Ole Einar Bjoerndalen of Norway can become the most successful athlete in Olympic Winter Games history. He has won 11 medals and he can surpass compatriot Bjorn Daehlie's all-time record 12.

7 - Luger Albert Demchenko of Russia and ski jumper Noriaki Kasai of Japan will participate in a record seventh Olympic Winter Games.

5 - Five is the most Winter Olympic gold medals won by one athlete in one edition: Eric Heiden of the United States won all men's speed skating events in 1980.
