Real looking to capitalize on a rare slip-up by rivals Barcelona who could only manage a 0-0 draw away at Osasuna. And it was the home team that started the brightest. Cristiano Ronaldo curling one against the cross-bar early on.

And Ronaldo makes no mistake. 2-0 the final score. And Real are now 2 points behind Barca and Atletico ahead of the first El Classico of the season at the Camp Neu next Saturday.
