The Chinese Football Association on Wednesday unveiled a new 25-man squad for Singapore and Malaysia friendlies in early September.
The two matches in Tianjin, China are warmups for China's crucial away game against Indonesia in the Asian Cup qualifiers on Oct. 15.
Surprisingly, Zhao Xuri and Feng Xiaoting, the two players under severe criticism in China's humiliating 1-5 loss to Thailand in June and subsequently were excluded from the China squad for East Asian Cup, returned this time.
Simultaneously, star forward Gao Lin and midfielder Huang Bowen were not on the list.
Zhao, Feng, Gao, Huang are all key players from the Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande which contributed seven players to the new national team.
