China will surpass the United States in a couple of weeks to become the world's largest smart-device market, according to a report released by mobile marketing firm Flurry on Tuesday.

The report shows China now has more than 200 million active smart devices, including both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets; if devices based on other operation system are added, the figure closes to 230 million, the same with the total in the United States.

As many Chinese customers would buy smart phones or tablets during Chinese New Year, China will have more smart devices in a couple of weeks than the United States.

The report also concludes that the United States will not take back the lead from China, given the vast difference in population per country. China has over 1.3 billion people while the U.S. has just over 310 million. China will remain the top smart device market in the world for a long time.
