Shanghai’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased 7.5 percent to exceed 2 trillion yuan in 2012, according to data released by Shanghai Municipal Statistics Bureau on Jan. 21.
The added value of the tertiary industry accounted for 60 percent in 2012. Shanghai has almost entered into the phase of service economy.
The tertiary industry in Shanghai developed evenly in 2012. Other service industries including science, education, arts and health industry grew more than 11 percent in the year. The gross turnover of online business reached 24 billion yuan, up 75 percent from 2011.
