Japanese government to undertake 2nd round fiscal stimulus package

TOKYO, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda Thursday confirmed to undertake a second round of fiscal stimulus package before the end of November, local media reported.

Noda met with the Economic and Fiscal Policy Minister Seiji Maehara at the premier's office Thursday morning and talked about the fiscal stimulus measures, but details of the plan are still uncertain.

It is believed that the Cabinet cannot use reserve funds under the budget to introduce the second stimulus package once the House of Representatives is dissolved on Friday, said local media, so Noda's plan may have little immediate impact on the economy.

Japanese government has unveiled a total 420 billion yen (5.2 billion U.S. dollars) stimulus package last month to prevent Japanese economy fall into recession.
