Hong Kong Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah said that cooperation should be enhanced in the logistics industry between Hong Kong and the mainland to enhance efficiency and lower costs.
He said that the logistics industry is one of the major pillars of Hong Kong's economy, and that Hong Kong's experience in the sector could complement the excellent infrastructure and market scale on the mainland. He made the remarks at a recent industry forum.
Meanwhile, Allan Wong, chief executive of Orient Overseas Container Line Logistics, a subsidiary of Orient Overseas (International) Ltd, said that Hong Kong's knowledge of both Eastern and Western business cultures is hard for other regions to surpass in the short term.
