Hong Kong's volume of exports of goods up 13.6%

HONG KONG, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The volume of Hong Kong's total exports of goods in September rose 13.6 percent from a year ago, the city's statistics department said here on Tuesday.

In September, the volume of Hong Kong's re-exports of goods increased 13.7 percent from a year earlier, while that of domestic exports climbed 9.2 percent. The volume of imports of goods rose 13.0 percent.

The prices of total exports of goods increased 1.9 percent in September from a year ago, with the prices of re-exports of goods up 1.9 percent and those of domestic exports up 0.9 percent. The prices of imports of goods added 2.2 percent.

For the first nine months of this year, the volume of total exports of goods in the city fell 2.2 percent, with the volume of re-exports of goods down 1.9 percent and that of domestic exports down 15.7 percent. The volume of imports of goods lost 0.8 percent.

The prices of total exports of goods for the first nine months advanced 4.0 percent, with the prices of re-exports of goods rising 4.1 percent and those of domestic exports rising 2.4 percent. The prices of imports of goods increased 3.7 percent.
