2014 Stanford Pan-Asian Music Festival will kick off on Feb. 1 with a traditional Chinese New Year Concert by the renowned guest soloists at Stanford University.

The Chinese New Year Concert will be performed at the Bing Concert Hall of Stanford University. The festival also celebrates its tenth anniversary season with a series of concerts and cultural activities featuring talented artists from China, Mongolia, and other areas around the world. The whole celebration will last from Feb.1 to March 2.
Since its inception ten years ago, the festival has brought fine music performances from Asia to audience in the San Francisco Bay Area.

"It has been a remarkable ten years during which we have explored many of the rich and diverse musical cultures from Asia. With the festival as our looking-glass, we hope to continue bringing people and traditions from East and West together through music," said Jindong Cai, artistic director, who is also the founder of the festival.

Besides the new year celebration, two-weekend long celebration of traditional Tibetan and Mongolian music and dance by two visiting ensembles, the Tibetan Opera, Dance and Music Troupe of Qinghai and the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet will be staged.

Four soloists from the Mongolian National Opera will join with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Chorus in performances of Verdi's Requiem.
