PUL-E-KHUMIR, Afghanistan, Nov. 1 -- Eleven people were wounded overnight when a bomb went off in northern Afghanistan's Baghlan province during a wedding party, sources said on Friday.
"A wedding party was underway in Baghlan-e-Markazi district Thursday night. An improvised explosive device (IED) placed under the tent where people were celebrating the party was detonated, injuring 11 people," the district governor Gohar Shah Babori told Xinhua.
The injured were shifted to a district hospital where one of the wounded remained in critical condition, the official said.
So far no group or militant organization has claimed the responsibility for the incident in the province, 160 km north of national capital Kabul.
Taliban militants during their five-year rule in Afghanistan which was overthrown in late 2001, had banned music and all other entertainments including watching television and stage shows.
