RIYADH, Oct. 22 -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has submitted a proposal to unify visa for Gulf countries to GCC Interior Ministers, according to Al Eqtisadiya newspaper Tuesday.
The proposal that was drafted by the GCC Chamber of Commerce Federation will enable residents and visitors to move freely in all Gulf countries by one visa only.
The experience of unified visa for Dubai, Oman and Qatar have proven to be successful, hence it could be generalized if the required facilities are provided by official organizations, General Director of the federation Abdulraeem Hassan Naqi told the newspaper.
He said that the proposal required e-linking of GCC systems to track down movements of foreigners in the region.
