BISHKEK, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's parliament Thursday approved an agreement with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allowing the latter to transit cargo through its territory to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
The agreement was signed between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and NATO during the NATO summit in May, 2012 in Chicago, USA.
Earlier, the chairman of the Kyrgyz Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs Kanybek Imanaliev said the agreement is beneficial to Kyrgyzstan, as all traffic will be carried out on a commercial basis.
