JAKARTA, May 27 (Xinhua) -- A shallow quake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted West Java on Monday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake struck at 07:06 a.m. Jakarta time with epicenter at 233 km southwest Tasikmalaya and with the depth at 10 km, it said.
Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called the " Pacific Ring of Fire."
